Maggie Houchin
ABOUT MAGGIE
- Owner
- CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
- BA in Business Marketing
- Pursuing Precision Nutrition Level 1
- CPR/AED Certified
Maggie started CrossFit six years ago hoping it would keep her in shape for high school sports. She soon fell in love with the community and support at the gym. She found that CrossFit helped her battle the insecurity most young women face from body image. Instead of focusing on her size, she began focusing on her strength and abilities.
Maggie has a passion to see others experience the joy that CrossFit has brought to her life. She desires for everyone to see how CrossFit can shift a person’s focus from dreading the gym, to being excited to go workout with friends. She believes helping and encouraging members accomplish things they never thought possible is the most rewarding aspect of coaching. Outside of the gym, Maggie helps others develop healthier eating choices by teaching them the importance of proper nutrition.
You can find Maggie in the gym enjoying a long chipper or practicing her gymnastics. She enjoys competing in CrossFit competitions and endurance races.

Lindsey Wellington
ABOUT LINDSEY
- CrossFit Level 1 Certified
- BA in Sports Marketing
- CPR Certified
- Author of “Empowering Women” Blog Post
- CPR/AED Certified
Throughout her life Lindsey has been involved in athletics. She played soccer and danced until she graduated from high school in 2015. She knew that after high school she needed a way to keep active during college. At the beginning of 2014, she found her way to CrossFit through her Uncle Jack who was doing WODs out of his garage. She didn’t take it seriously at first. It was simply something to enjoy with her family and few friends.
Things started to change whenever she went to the 2014 Central Regionals in Cincinnati, Ohio (where she got to meet her first CrossFit love, Rich Froning.) This is when she fell in love with CrossFit and knew that CrossFit was something she would take more seriously. Once she graduated High School, she moved to Huntington to pursue a degree at Marshall University.
She continued to balance school and CrossFit. Because of her love for CrossFit, she chose to do her internship at CrossFit Thunder. After completing 210 internship hours there, she decided to continue her CrossFit journey by obtaining her Level 1 certificate in July of 2018. After passing the requirements to be a Level 1 coach, Lindsey started coaching January 2019 at CrossFit Barboursville. Lindsey graduated with a Bachelors in Sports Management in May 2019. Currently, she is working towards a Masters in Sports Administration and plans to graduate in 2021.
Throughout her 6 year CrossFit journey there have been many highs and lows. She says “Some days you hit a huge PR and some days you can’t get within 20 pounds of your PR. You have to learn to cope with those days.” She loves that even on those low days, you have people next to you supporting you no matter the outcome. For Lindsey, that is a great feeling that turns a bad day into a good one. Her favorite feeling is the adrenaline that comes from a short quick workout. Lindsey’s favorite part of coaching is that special moment of watching someone achieve something that they never thought that they could do. She thanks CrossFit for helping her build great relationships, become mentally tougher, and understand that strong is beautiful.
